Intervention Strategies for Shift in Teaching
Learning needs to be meaningful and fun! We can engage all learners utilizing effective technology tools. So how can we reach ALL learners while making our lessons fun and meaningful?

First, find out what motivates your learners. What are their interests? What do they like? Take a brief survey...it's well worth the investment.

Second, find out from your students what they are currently studying. Collaborate (hook up) with two or three of the teachers your students have and ask them what you can do to help in meeting these academic goals. Will mini lessons in Internet search strategies benefit the overall objective?

Third, allow for a variety of opportunities for your students to make learning meaningful. Do your lessons provide authentic learning? Are you using a variety of technology tools to make learning relevant? Are you relentless to find out what works best in their learning environment? What considerations need to be given for safety issues?

Fourth, learning has to be fun to engage all learners. Are you using their interests to develop lesson plans? Are you using a variety of technology tools for their voices to be heard? Do they have a meaningful and/or authentic audience? Are they "ready" to learn? Do they collaborate with one another (locally or globally)?
